Sad to say, I'm not at all surprised that Ateneans would do such a thing. C'mon guys. You already won the basketball championship. Did we (yes, I'm including myself with this act, but not the championship) really have to stoop so low?
We call La Salle bad losers, but think we can be classier winners?
Men: Yes, We're Pedophiles Now; Women: I Know, It's Just Not Fair
Ladies and Gents, meet Saaya Irie. She's a Japanese actress, model and singer. Her three-sizes are 78F-36-78cm (30F-22-30in). And she's 14 years old. You read right, fourteen-I'm-going-to-jail-years-old. 14! 30F! F as in f**k-those-are-huge.
I never understood why people buy Crocs. They're flippin' ugly. But I'd never expect these things to hurt you as much it hurts your fashion credibility.
According to Japan's International Trade and Industry Ministry and the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation, 40 reported escalator accidents have been linked to these monstrosities. One reported case involved a five-year-old girl breaking her middle toe.
As much as I hate these shoes, I can't fathom how these things get caught on escalators. But I'm told one similar event has already happened in the Philippines. So you guys better think twice before buying such potentially (fashionably) dangerous footwear.
Can't get enough of the barrage of super flicks from good old Hollywood? Then check out SuperStrangeVideo.com for super hero movies from around the world! They have a pretty nice catalogue in there. They even managed to dig up two of my super rip-off favorites: Super 1, 2, 3 and Alyas Batman en Robin. I still think Capt. Barbell and Darna are even bigger rip-offs than those two Philippine screen gems. Mars Ravelo is a hack! The only real pinoy super hero he made was Panday! But I wouldn't be surpirsed if I found out that that was a rip-off too. I digress. Anyway, It's an interesting site. And be careful with some of the links. Some images are not entirely safe for work.
But it's good to know that Filipinos aren't the only ones capable of ripping off America. The Italian SuperHombres poster is classic! (sigh, and I thought we were so clever to come up with 3 Supermen, but even the Italians beat us to that idea)
WTF Moment #0004: Does your Deity live in a Pineapple Under the Sea?
You often read the phrase "those crazy Japanese" on the Internet, but the Americans have their fair share of wacky, wild-eyed insanity. According to the BBC, fans of the show created a Church dedicated to our spineless, fictional, jelly-fishing, deep-sea friend. 700 members strong, the church says: "it wants to push 'simple things like having fun and using your imagination...'"
Hmm... maybe that's not so bad after all. It sure sounds a hell of a lot better than that Flying Spaghetti Monster nonsense.
Paris Hilton as Mother Teresa??? What the hell? Apparently some bollywood director was impressed that her royal airhead refused to pose nude for Playboy and is now considering casting her for the part.
Hello! She doesn't need to pose for Playboy! We've already seen her skinny naked ass everywhere else! Talk about the potentially worst case of miscasting, ever! God! You'd at least think he'd cast someone who has talent!
It's like casting Anabelle Rama as the Virgin Mary...
WTF Moment #0002: What's up with these sequels to 80s movies?
Rambo 4??? What the f---!? I know that Stallone is currently filming Rocky 6, but isn't making another Rambo movie pushing it? Stallone is too old to make the Vietnam War setting believable. Where is John Rambo supposed to go now? Iraq? You do realize that this is all Schwarzenegger's fault.
What's up with Hollywood making these late movie sequels? And why are these old 80s action stars so eager to reprise their old macho men images now? God knows I'm all for Indiana Jones 4 but this is getting ridiculous! Now if they were making a sequel to Goonies, I think I'll let the Rambo thing slide.
I should know better than to react the way that I did when I first saw this. I mean, a good friend of mine organizes speed dating events. I have been in one of those speed dating events myself. But there are things that you can never prepare for.
So as I was browsing through this morning's Manila Bulletin, I see this article:
So I think, "wow, Petita's group is getting all this good publicity," but in the corner of my eye, I see this:
HOLY SHIT! Camille???! With...??? HOLY SHIT! [sigh] If only some of us could be that lucky (Nadiyaryo ka pa, bruha). I'm happy for you Camille! Fight on!
I'll talk more on the speed dating thing in another post.
