Black is the New Black
What did I say about Black and Shiny Gadgets? Yeah, I tend gravitate towards them. Got bored and took some snapshots of my black gizmos. I just realized that most of my black gadgets are Sony products. Fancy that. Click the image for more of my practice photography shots.

Spoiled
I think I may have to learn to say "no." I've been too accommodating to my friends, co-workers, and even random acquaintances. So much that they text, call or e-mail me late at night. Tonight, I've had four different people ask me four different things in a span of an hour. And like the daft doormat that I am, I agreed to all requests.

I feel like I'm Melvin Smiley in The Big Hit. I can't refuse a request in fear of people disliking me. [sigh] It's mentally and physically draining me. People criticize me sometimes for being too much of a hermit, but now you know that most of the time I spend at home is to accommodate several requests from all these people.

I really like some alone time. I need some time just veg out in front of my Mac watching my shows and even more time to finally finish Final Fantasy XII. Dear God, people, the world of Ivalice needs me too!

One of these days, I think I'll digitally disappear from all of you.

[RANT] Pardon my French, but FUCK PLDT
I have never been so vexed by a single company like this since Microsoft. PL-fucking-DT has been exponentially degrading in service since they were incorporated. You'd think they'd appreciate us for sticking by their monopoly all these years. But no, what to we get for our (imposed) loyalty? A swift kick to the nut sack (I don't know what they do to the ladies, but it must be equally painful).

To preface all this hatred, first, mid last year, they were offering new upgraded speeds for their DSL service. Back then, we were on a 768kbps subscription. We were paying around Php2,500 a month not including the landline fees. I notice they were advertising a Php1,995 plan with a 1.2Mbps speed. I call to avail of this new cheaper and faster subscription plan. I tell them I wanted to upgrade because naturally 768kbps to 1.2Mbps is an upgrade, right? Right? Wrong. To them, it was considered a downgrade since it was a cheaper plan, not only that, they have a "downgrade fee" of Php5,000. Inconceivable! So I try to beat them at their own game, I asked, then I'll just have my current line disconnected and have a new one reattached. No fees, no bullshit. Wrong again. They said that there was a 15 day disconnection period and another 15 days for processing the application for the new plan, plus we had to pay all installation fees again!

Second and more recently, our landline has been experiencing problems since December 2006. It took one BLOODY month to fix it. But like in most rants, it doesn't end there. It seems those they sent to fix it did an extremely shoddy job. Now our bloody line has bloody static. And when there's static on our line, your DSL connection basically goes bye-bye. To this day, they haven't fixed the static.

Now, multiply this by two years and 20-odd years worth of disconnections and overcharging, and I think you'll be on the same page I am. Fuck PLDT. Fuck their shitty landline service. Fuck their overpriced DSL plans. And most of all, fuck their inept and useless customer service.

They will rue the day the have crossed me.

I've seen the Light, and it's in HD
I hadn't the slightest idea what High-Definition content would look like. I've always thought DVD was the best picture quality we'll ever get. Boy, was I wrong.

Oh. My. God. DVD ain't got nothing on HD.

HD truly can't be described to you. You really have to see it yourself. Running my new toy on a measly 1080i resolution has already impressed me, it boggles the mind what 1080p would be like. I'm just relieved that I've justified my impulse purchase.

If all this HD Resolution jargon made you go cross-eyed, read more here.
